Now it’s time to show the world your idea for a creative handwashing device for your community!

Upload your work any time from Tuesday 18th May to Friday 18th June, and you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.  We will be showcasing entries in an online gallery - you will have the option for your work to be included if you wish. If you are aged 16-18, you are also eligible to be considered for an exciting opportunity.  A student who submits an outstanding piece of work will have the chance to undertake work experience or mentoring at Siabann, a Scottish company making handmade natural soap products.

What do I need to upload?

1.  Your 2-3 sentence reflection (from Step 1) about a precedent that you thought was interesting and why.

2.  Your location sketch (from Step 2) and your 2-3 reflection sentences describing the proposed location and who would use your handwashing device.

3.  Your detailed sketch demonstrating your handwashing device in-use.

4.  A brief description (3-4 sentences) of your final concept that answers the following questions:

  • What is creative or fun about your design?
  • How would someone use your handwashing device?
  • What materials will it be made from?

Bonus:  All that's required to take part in this challenge is to submit a sketch of your idea. However, if you want to take it a step further and make a prototype of your device, we'd love to see it! Feel free to add an image of it to your final submission.
