Now it’s time to show the world your dish featuring ingredients from your region! Upload your work any time from Tuesday 18th May to Friday 18th June 2021, and you will receive a Certificate of Achievement. We will be compiling entries into a digital cookbook - you will have the option to have your work included if you wish. If you are aged 16-18, you are also eligible to be considered for an exciting work experience opportunity. A student who submits an outstanding piece of work will be given the chance to spend a day observing and working with the chefs in the kitchen of Michelin-starred restaurant The Kitchin in Edinburgh.
What do I need to upload?
- Your 2-3 sentence reflection (from Step 1) about a Local Food Movement that you thought was interesting and why
- Your list of 10+ foods that grow in your region (from Step 2) and your description of how you conducted your research
- The exploded diagram of your dish comprised of ingredients from within 100 miles of your home. Make sure to label your sketch with your location (city, country) to help inform viewers of where your local foods are grown.
Bonus: For this FIDA Challenge you are only required to submit an exploded diagram of your recipe. However, if you do actually make your dish using local ingredients, we would love to see a picture of it! Please add an image of your dish to your submissions.
