In October 2020 it was announced by the SQA that one of the 20-mark extended responses would appear in the Political Theory unit.

This means that while you may practise writing 12 mark responses as above, for the final exam you will need to be prepared to write a 20-mark essay in this unit.

It would be a good idea at this stage to attempt the following question:

To what extent are the key features of representative democracy superior to those of direct democracy?

In your answer you must refer to the work of relevant theorists.
