As you go through the research that follows think about not only about describing the way each campaign management strategy (traditional grassroots campaign strategies, media strategies & use of new technology) has been used in a UK general election, but also noting how effective the strategy was in a general election.


Success in a political campaign could be seen in relation to a victory in a general election or perhaps a percentage increase in vote share or number of seats gained in the House of Commons or Scottish Parliament.


✓ Identify specific examples from recent elections (2015/2017 & 2019) to show the strategy in action.

✓ Consider how effective the campaign strategy was in relation to the electoral performance of political parties. You should access the following election data to add weight to your responses

You are now going to present your research findings, analysis and evaluation of the three political campaign management strategies. 

Attached to this post is a powerpoint template that you could use to present your findings. You can edit the textboxes and change the colours and icons as you wish.

The final slide asks that you state which of the three political campaign management strategies is the most effective and justify your reason. Of course, the most effective political campaign incorporates all three strategies, however for this task, you should pick one and state why is it the most effective.

You may record a voice over on top of the powerpoint, however this is not essential.

You may wish to present your findings in an alternative format - this is fine. Please use the same format of Knowledge - Example - Analysis - Evaluation/Comparison with your alternative presentation of your research.

When you have completed the presentation, you may upload it to your student folder.
